Image Optimizer Plugins

Flying Pigs does the image work in your browser before the upload: the original is optimized, every size is made, and WebP or AVIF copies are added. The files land on the server finished.

Why your optimizer does not touch them

Optimizer plugins such as Smush, EWWW, ShortPixel, Imagify, LiteSpeed Cache's image optimization and hosts' built-in optimizers usually process each file as it is uploaded. Flying Pigs keeps them away from its own uploads on purpose, so a file that is already optimized is not compressed a second time and the server does no extra work.

What you may see

• The images appear in the media library as normal.
• Your optimizer does not show them as optimized, and its statistics leave them out.
• Its automatic WebP or AVIF conversion does not run on them. Flying Pigs has already made those.

Uploads through the WordPress Media page are still handed to your optimizer as before.

Should I run the optimizer's bulk tool on them?

Usually not. They are already optimized, and a second pass can make them worse, not smaller. If you do want your optimizer to process them, use its bulk or re-optimize tool after the upload.
