Your Flying Pigs Pro license

Flying Pigs Pro needs an active license for the site it runs on. The license unlocks uploads and the Pro tools, and brings Pro updates to your Plugins page. This article covers activating it, moving it, renewing it, and what happens when it runs out.

The free Flying Pigs Uploader on WordPress.org needs no license at all.

Activate your license

1. Install and activate the Flying Pigs Pro plugin. Download it with your license key from the Pro download page.
2. Go to Media > Flying Pigs Uploader and open the License panel.
3. Enter the license key and the buyer email, both from your purchase email, and click Activate.

The panel then says Site license expires in … day(s), with the email, the site and the expiry date. Only administrators can change the license.

Which site a license covers

A license is tied to the site's domain, the address WordPress runs on, without the "www". A single-site license covers one domain; 3-site and 10-site licenses cover that many. A staging copy on a different address counts as another site.

Without an active license, Pro does not upload

This matters: if the license is missing, expired, or for a different site, Flying Pigs Pro does not upload at all. The License panel says No active license · uploads are off, and the Start button stays greyed out. There is one day of grace after the expiry date.

Your files, settings and everything already uploaded stay exactly as they are. Only new uploads stop.

To keep uploading without Pro, deactivate Flying Pigs Pro and install the free Flying Pigs Uploader. It does the browser image work, the sizes, WebP and AVIF, and media folders, without the Pro tools such as turbo lanes, WebP only, the watermark, overwrite and attaching photos to products.

Renew

A license runs for a year. Renew it before the expiry date, then click Refresh in the License panel to pick up the new date at once. The plugin also re-checks the license by itself about once a day.

Updates

While the license is active, new Pro versions appear on your site's Plugins page like any other plugin update. Update from there. Check for updates in the License panel looks straight away. After the license expires you keep the version you have, but new versions cannot be downloaded until you renew. Updates are never installed by themselves.

Move a license to another site

1. On the old site, click Remove license from this site in the License panel.
2. On the new site, activate it with the same key and email.

If the new site says the license has no room for another site, open a ticket with your key and both addresses, and we will move it.

The panel's buttons

• Refresh checks the license with the license server now.
• Update lets you enter a different key or email, for example after buying a larger license.
• Remove license from this site takes the license off this site.
• Check for updates looks for a newer Pro version.

What the license check sends

To check a license, Pro contacts the Flying Pigs license server when you activate or refresh, about once a day by itself, and when an update is downloaded. It sends the license key, the buyer email and the site's address, never your files. The free plugin makes no such call.

Problems

• "Could not reach the license server": your server could not connect out. Try Refresh later. If it keeps happening, your host may be blocking outgoing connections.
• "No license found for this site": check the key and the email are exactly as in your purchase email, and that the license is for this site's address.
• Anything else: open a ticket and include your license key.
